New Delhi, the 26th August, 2020
G.S.R. 532(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 124, read with sub-section
(1) of section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby approves the
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2020,
made by the Board of Trustees of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port and set out in the Schedule annexed to this notification.
2. The said regulations as approved shall come into force on the date of publication of this notification in the
Official Gazette.
SCHEDULE
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Board
of Trustees of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Jawaharlal
Nehru Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2011, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust Employees (Recruitment Seniority
and Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of publication of the approval thereto by the Central
Government in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2011, in
the Schedule,-
(i) under the heading “RECRUITMENT RULES FOR CLASS-I POSTS OF GENERAL
ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT (MAIN ADMN.) IN JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT TRUST”, against serial4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)]
number 1, relating to the post of Administrative Officer, in column 12, for the entries, the following entries shall be
substituted, namely:-
“Promotion from Office Superintendent in the scale of pay of Rs. 36500-88700/- with 5 years regular service
in the grade and have passed the qualifying departmental examination prescribed by the Chairman.”
(ii) under the heading “RECRUITMENT RULES FOR CLASS-I POSTS OF ADMINISTRATION
DEPARTMENT (P&IR-HRD DIVISION) IN JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT TRUST”,-
(a) against serial number 1, relating to the post of Personnel Officer, in column 12, for the entries,
the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“Promotion from Office Superintendent in the scale of pay of Rs. 36500-88700/-with 5 years
regular service in the grade and have passed the qualifying departmental examination prescribed by the
Chairman.”
(b) against serial number 2, relating to the post of Labour Welfare Officer, in column 12, for the
entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“Promotion from Office Superintendent in the scale of pay of Rs. 36500-88700/- with 5 years
regular service in the grade and have passed the qualifying departmental examination prescribed by the
Chairman.”
(iii) under the heading “RECRUITMENT RULES FOR CLASS-I POSTS OF FINANCE DEPARTMENT
IN JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT TRUST”, against serial number 1, relating to the post of Accounts Officer in
column 12, for entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“Promotion from Office Superintendent in the scale of pay of Rs. 36500-88700/- with 5 years regular service
in the grade and have passed the qualifying departmental examination prescribed by the Chairman.”
(iv) under the heading “RECRUITMENT RULES FOR CLASS-I POSTS OF MANAGEMENT SERVICES
DIVISION UNDER FINANCE DEPARTMENT IN JAWAHARLAL NEHRU PORT TRUST”, against serial
number 1, relating to the post of Superintendent(MS), in column 12, for the entries, the following entries shall be
substituted, namely:-
“Promotion from Programmer, in the scale of pay of Rs. 40000-140000/- with 3 years regular service in the
grade
OR
Promotion from Programme Assistant Class-III employees in the scale of pay of Rs. 36500-88700/- in the
MS division with 5 years regular service in the grade and have passed the qualifying departmental examination
prescribed by the Chairman.”
