New Delhi, the 26th August, 2020
G.S.R. 530(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 124, read with
sub-section (1) of section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government
hereby approves the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment
Regulations, 2020 made by the Board of Trustees of the Port of Mumbai as set out in the Schedule annexed
to this notification.
2. The said regulations as approved shall come into force on the date of publication of this
notification in the Official Gazette.
SCHEDULE
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963),
the Board of Trustees of the Mumbai Port Trust hereby makes the following regulations further to amend
the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010, namely:-
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment Seniority
and Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2020.
(2) They shall come into force from the date of publication of the approval thereto by the Central
Government in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010,
in the Schedule-I,—
(I) under the heading “General Administration & Human Resources Department”, against serial
number 6, relating to the post of Secretary,—
(i) in column 5, for the entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:—
“Rs. 100000-260000 (the pay scale will be elevated to the scale of pay of Rs.120000-280000/- after
three years regular service with the approval of Central Government”;
(ii) in column 12, under the sub heading ‘For absorption’, the following shall be substituted,
namely:—
“For absorption through composite method, officers holding posts in the scale of pay of
Rs. 80000-220000/- with three years regular service in the General Administration or Human Resource
Department or Legal Department of a Major Port Trust shall be eligible.”;
(II) under the heading “Finance Department”, against serial number 47, relating to the post of
Financial Adviser & Chief Accounts Officer,-

eligible.”
(VII) under the heading “Marine Department”, against serial number 96, relating to the post of
Deputy Conservator,—
(i) in column 5, for the entries, the following entries shall be substituted, namely:—
“Rs. 100000-260000/- (the pay scale will be elevated to the scale of pay of Rs.12000-28000/- after
three years regular service with the approval of Central Government)”;
(ii) in column 12, under the sub-heading ‘For absorption’. the following entries shall be substituted,
namely:—
“For absorption through composite method:
(a) Officer holding posts of harbour master in the scale of pay of Rs.100000-260000/- with one
year regular service;
or
(b) Officers holding posts of harbour master with scale of pay of Rs. 90000-240000/- with two
years regular service”.
