G.S.R. 1434 (E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 124, read with Sub-section (1)
of Section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby approves the Mumbai
Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2017 made by the Board of
Trustees for the Port of Mumbai as set out in the Schedule annexed to this Notification.
2. The said Amendment Regulations shall come into force on the date of publication of this notification in the
Official Gazette.

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 28 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963) the Board
of Trustees of the Port of Mumbai hereby makes the following Regulations to amend the Mumbai Port Trust
Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010 namely:—
1. (i) These Regulations may be called the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and
Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2017.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of publication of the approval of the Central Government as
required under the provisions of Section 124 and 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 in the
Gazette of India.
2. In the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010:
(i) In Sub Regulation (2)(b) of Regulation 12, the words “For Class I posts the maximum of pay scale of
which exceeds Rs. 16750 (in the pay structure from 1.1.1997):” shall be substituted by the
following:—
“For Class I posts the maximum of pay scale of which exceeds Rs. 46500 (in the pay structure from
1.1.2007)”
(ii) In Sub Regulation (2)(b)(ii) of Regulation 12, the words “HoD incharge of HR Department” shall be
substituted by the following:—
“HoD incharge of General Administration Department”
(iii) In Sub Regulation (2)(c)(i) of Regulation 12, the words “HoD in charge of HR Department” shall be
substituted by the following:-
“HoD in charge of General Administration Department”
(iv) In Sub Regulation (2)(c)(ii) of Regulation 12, the words “Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts
Officer or Secretary as may be nominated by the Chairman” shall be substituted by the following:—
“Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer or Deputy Conservator as may be nominated by the
Chairman”
(v) In Sub Regulation (2)(d)(i) of Regulation 12, the words “An officer of the rank not below that of
Deputy to the HoD of HR” shall be substituted by the following:—
“An officer of the rank not below that of Deputy to the HoD of General Administration Department”
(vi) In Sub Regulation (2) (e) (i) of Regulation 12, the words “A Class I officer of the HR Department
below the rank of Deputy to the HoD” shall be substituted by the following:—
“A Class I officer of the General Administration Department below the rank of Deputy to the HoD”
