NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 31st October, 2019
G.S.R. 818(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 124, read with
sub-section (1) section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby approves the
Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment Regulation, 2019, made by the
Board of Trustees of the Mumbai Port Trust, as set out in the Schedule annexed to this notification.
2. The said regulations as approved shall come into force on the date of publication of this notification in the
Official Gazette.
SCHEDULE
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28 of the Major Port Trust Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Board of
Trustees of the Mumbai Port hereby makes the following regulations further to amend the Mumbai Port Trust Employees
(Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010, namely:—
1. (1) These regulations may be called the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion)
Amendment Regulations, 2019.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of publication of the approval thereto by the Central Government in the
Gazette of India.
2. In the Mumbai Port Trust Employees (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2010, in the Schedule-I,
under the heading “Marine Department”,—
(I) against serial number 102, relating to the post of Marine Engineer, in column 8, for the entries, the following
entries shall be substituted, namely:—
“(i) MOT I Class Motor Certificate or Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate issued under the
Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958);
(ii) One year post qualification experience as Chief Engineer/2nd Engineer on board a foreign going ship”;¹Hkkx IIµ[k.M 3(i)] Hkkjr dk jkti=k % vlk/kj.k 3
(II) against serial number 103, relating to the post of Senior Marine Engineer, in column 8, for the entries, the
following entries shall be substituted, namely:—

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 (44 of 1958);
(ii) Four years experience as Chief Engineer or Five years combined experience as Chief Engineer and
2nd Engineer on board a foreign going ship”.
