F. No. A-12013/13/RR/2016-UIDAI (No. 3 of 2022).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section
(1) of Section 21 read with sub-section (1) of section 54 and clause (x) of sub-section (2) of section 54 of the Aadhaar
(Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016), as amended vide
the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Act, 2019 (14 of 2019), the Unique Identification Authority of India
hereby makes the following regulation further to amend the Unique Identification Authority of India (Appointment of
Officers and Employees) Regulations,2020 ( No. 1 of 2020) namely:‒
1. Short title and commencement-
(1) This regulation may be called the Unique Identification Authority of India (Appointment of Officers and
Employees) (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2022 (No. 3 of 2022).
(2) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
2. Amendment in Schedule to the Unique Identification Authority of India (Appointment of Officers and
Employees) Regulations, 2020-
(a) Against the post of Assistant Director General, under the column of Number of post, the entry “42* (2020)
* Subject to variation dependent on workload” shall be substituted with “41”.
(b) Post of “Assistant Director General” shall be renamed as “Director”. Accordingly, the entry
“Assistant Director General”/ “Assistant Director Generals” shall be substituted with “Director”/
“Directors” in all places as and where applicable in Schedule of Unique Identification Authority of India
(Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020.
(c) Post of “Assistant Director General (Technology)” shall be renamed as “Director (Technology)”.
Accordingly, the entry “Assistant Director General (Technology)” shall be substituted with “Director
(Technology)” in all places as and where applicable in Schedule of Unique Identification Authority of
India (Appointment of Officers and Employees) Regulations, 2020.
(d) Post of “Assistant Director General (Technology – DS Level)” shall be renamed as “Assistant
Director General (Technology)”. Accordingly, the entry “Assistant Director General (Technology –
DS Level)” shall be substituted with “Assistant Director General (Technology)” in all places as and
where applicable in Schedule of Unique Identification Authority of India (Appointment of Officers and
Employees) Regulations, 2020.
(e) Following shall be inserted below the post of Assistant Director General in Schedule of Unique
