New Delhi, the 15th June, 2016
G.S.R. 601(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-section (1) of Section 124, read with
Sub-section (1) of Section 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government
hereby approves the Chennai Port Trust Employees’ (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment
Regulations, 2016, made by the Board of Trustees for the Chennai Port Trust and are set out in the Schedule
annexed to this Notification.
The said Regulations shall come into force on the date of publication of this notification in the
Official Gazette.

CHENNAI PORT TRUST
Chennai Port Trust Employees’ (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2016
In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 28 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the
Board of Trustees of Chennai Port Trust hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Chennai
Port Trust Employees’ (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2008, namely:-
1. Short Title and Commencement:-
(i) These Regulations may be called the Chennai Port Trust Employees’ (Recruitment, Seniority and
Promotion) Amendment Regulations, 2016.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of publication of the approval of the Central Government as
required under the provisions of Section 124 and 132 of the Major Port Trusts Act,1963 in the Gazette of
India.
2. In the Chennai Port Trust Employees’ (Recruitment, Seniority and Promotion) Regulations, 2008, in
the schedule containing Recruitment Rules for Class-I posts in Medical Department.-
(i) for the post of Senior Dy. Chief Medical Officer at Sl.No.4, the provisions under Col.No.8
shall be substituted as under:-
“i) MBBS degree from a recognized University.4 THE GAZETTE OF INDIA : EXTRAORDINARY [PART II—SEC. 3(i)]
ii) A Post Graduate (PG) Medical Degree or PG Medical Diploma in the specified
speciality from a recognized University.
iii) Post qualification experience of 10 years in case of PG Degree holders and 12 years
experience in case of PG Diploma holders in the relevant field of specialization in a
reputed hospital”.
(ii) for the post of Chief Medical Officer at Sl.No.5, the provisions under Col.No.8 shall be
substituted as under:-

speciality from a recognized University.
