New Delhi, the dated 17/10/2018
No. F. 47 (188)/CF/HQ/98/FR/Estt./5954.—In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso of Article 309
of the Constitution of India, read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No. 27/59-Him (i)
dated 13th July, 1959 and in supersession of notification No. F.18/7/62-RES/AB dated 20.09.1965, for the post of Forest
Ranger; except as respect things done or omitted to be done before such supersession ; the Lt. Governor of National
Capital Territory of Delhi hereby makes the following Rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Forest
Ranger, Group ‘B’ post (Non-gazetted, non-ministerial) in the Department of Forests and Wildlife, Government of
National Capital Territory of Delhi, namely:—
1. Short Title and commencement :— (i) These Rules may be called The Department of Forests and Wildlife
Forest Ranger Recruitment Rules 2018 for recruitment to the post of Forest Ranger, Group ‘B’ post (Non-Gazetted,
non-ministerial).
(ii) They shall come into effect/force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. No. of Posts, Classification and Scale of Pay Level in the Matrix :— The number of posts, its classification and
its Level in the pay matrix attached thereto, shall be as specified in columns (2) to (4) of the Schedule annexed to
these Rules.
3. Method of Recruitment, Age Limit, and other Qualifications etc. :— The method of recruitment, age limit,
qualification and other matters relating to the said post shall be as specified in columns number (5) to (13) of the
said Schedule annexed to these Rules.
4. Disqualification :— No person,
(a.) Who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse, or
(b.) Who, having a spouse living, has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person,
shall be eligible for the said post:
Provided that the Government may, if satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law
applicable to such persons and the other party to the marriage and that there are other grounds for doing so,
exempt any person from the operation of this Rule.
(c.) Power to relax :— Where the Government is of the opinion that it is necessary or expedient to do so, it
may, by order and for reasons to be recorded in writing, relax any of the provisions of these rules, in consultation
with Union Public Service Commission, with respect to any class or category of persons.
(d.) Saving :— Nothing in these rules shall affect reservations, relaxation of age limit and other
concessions required to be provided for the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, ex-servicemen and other special
categories of persons in accordance with the orders issued by the Central Government from time to time in this
regard.
