* Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree from a recognized university in Hindi with English, or vice versa. Alternative Master's degrees in subjects other than Hindi or English are acceptable if Hindi or English was studied at degree level. Knowledge of Hindi terminology is desirable and two years experience of translation work from Hindi to English is also desirable.
* **Disqualifications:** The policy outlines disqualifications related to marriage, specifically preventing individuals with a living spouse from entering into another marriage or contract of marriage unless permitted by personal law and with government approval.
* **Power to Relax:** The Government retains the power to relax provisions of these rules, in consultation with UPSC, for any class or category of persons, for reasons recorded in writing.
