EMPLOYEES' STATE INSURANCE CORPORATION
NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 15th November, 2019
No. N-12/13/1/2016-P&D.—In exercise of the powers conferred upon it under Section 19 of the Employees'
State Insurance Act, 1948 (34 of 1948), the Employees' State Insurance Corporation, do hereby notify the following
modifications in Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana, which was notified in the Gazette of India Part III, Section 4
dated 26.03.2005 as per decision of ESI Corporation in its 169th meeting held on 06.09.2016 which has approved the
following modification in the scheme :—
a) The eligibility requirement of payment of contribution has been reduced from existing 3 years to 2 years for
availing benefits under RGSKY.
b) The duration of unemployment allowance has been increased from existing 12 months to 24 months during the
entire insurable employment of the IP/IW.
During this period, the IP/IW would get the benefit as per the following slab:
Unemployment Period 0 to 12 Months 13 to 24 Months
25% of the last average daily
Benefit Rate 50% of the last average daily wages

The IP/IW and his/her family would continue to get medical benefit during this period.
c) The limitation period for submission of claims for benefits under the RGSKY has been increased from existing 09
months to 12 months.
d) Under this scheme RGSKY, the IP/IW can undergo short duration courses of a few weeks upto 06 months to upgrade
his/her skill from the “Advanced Vocational Training institutions” under the DGET, MoL&E, Government of India. The
Corporation has approved that the duration of the training courses may be upto 01 year from the above Government
accredited Institutions. Only in case of non-availability of Government accredited Institutions, the skill up-gradation may
be resorted to in reputed Private Institutions.
The above modifications has been made effective w.e.f. 06.09.2016 i.e. the date of decision by the Corporation.
Other conditions as specified in the RGSKY will remain the same.
