No. 01/11/08/HP-I/Estt./2551, dated 30th September 2008, F.1/9/08/HP-I/Estt./2537, dated 30th September 2008, F. 1/3/2006/HP-I/Estt./6298, dated 26th November 2007, F. 1/3/2006/HP-I/Estt./5107, dated 28th August 2007, F. 1/28/98/HP-I/Estt./6998, dated 21st December 1999, F. 13/30/93-HP(Estt.)/6386-6390, dated 1st December 1998 and F.12(2)/89-HP.II, dated 24th April, 1989 and in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Delhi Police Act, 1978 (34 of 1978) and clause (s) of section 2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), read with Govt. of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi notification No. U-110011/2/74-UTL(i) dated the 20th March 1974, the Lieutenant Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in order to facilitate extension of better police assistance to the public, hereby, is pleased to direct and declare as under:- (i) That “Outer-North District” shall be a new separate and independent Police District in the National Capital Territory of Delhi after carving out the same from the existing Rohini, North-West and Outer Districts from the date of issue of this notification; (ii) That the National Capital Territory of Delhi shall comprise of fifteen (15) Police Districts namely North-East, Shahdara, East, South-East, South, Dwarka, West, Outer, Rohini, Outer-North, North- West, North, Central, New Delhi and South-West from the date of issue of this notification; (iii) That Bhajan Pura, Sangam Vihar, Swarup Nagar and Timar Pur shall be separate and independent police Sub-Divisions in North-East, South, Outer-North and North Districts respectively from the date of issue of this notification; (iv) That Prashant Vihar, Aman Vihar, Begum Pur shall be separate and independent Police Sub-Divisions in Rohini District from the date of issue of this notification; (v) That Sub-Divisions Ambedkar Nagar, Mundka, Alipur and Saraswati Vihar shall now be called Sub Divisions Chitranjan Park in South District, Mangol Puri in Outer District, Narela in Outer-North District and Subhash Place in North-West District on account of administrative convenience; (vi) That Sub-Division Safdarjung Enclave of South District shall be shifted to South-West District from the date of issue of this notification; (vii) That existing Police Station Shakarpur shall be known as Laxmi Nagar on account of administrative convenience and a new Police Station in the name of Shakarpur having separate boundaries will come into existence from the date of issue of this notification.
