In pursuance of Clause 5 6 vi of Ministry of Power Notification on Guidelines for Determination of Tariff by Bidding Process for Procurement of Power by Distribution Licensees
This gazette notification issued by the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) specifies the annual escalation rates applicable for the period from October 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025. These rates are to be used for payment purposes in power purchase agreements (PPAs) between distribution licensees and power generators.

For inland transportation charges for gas, the escalation rate is 0.00% for all zones (Zone-1 up to 300 km, Zone-2 between 300-1200 km and Zone-3 above 1200 km).
For plants based on imported gas: The escalation rate for imported gas is -23.80%; for transportation of imported gas is -6.86%; and for inland handling of imported gas is 0.51%.
The inflation rate to be applied to the indexed capacity charge component is 0.51%.
The inflation rate to be applied to the indexed energy charge component in cases of captive fuel source is -0.62%.

Thermal Power Projects” dated 22.07.2020 read with amendment dated 03.11.2020, the Central Electricity Regulatory
