In pursuance of the recommendation of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), as conveyed vide its letter No. 012-VGL-091-250620, dated 23-06-2014, Shri Arun Kumar Bhattacharya, IAS (Retd.) has been appointed as Independent External Monitor of GSI with immediate effect.

No. 784/ C-11021/2(CVC)/2012-Vig. Vol.-II.—In pursuance of the provisions contained in the CVC Office
Order 41/12/07, dated 4th December, 2007, Circular No. 24/8/08, dated 5th August, 2008, Circular No. 10/05/2009,
dated 18-05-2009 and Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, OM No. 14(12)/2008-E-II(A), dated 19th July,
2011, it has been decided to implement the concept of Integrity Pact in major procurement activities of the Geological
Survey of India (GSI), an Attached Office of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, with immediate effect.
2. In pursuance of the Ministry of Mines OM No. 22/7/2011-IP, dated 1st August, 2012, threshold value above
which the Integrity Pact would be used for procurement transaction/contract in GSI will be 1 Crore.
3. In pursuance of the recommendation of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), as conveyed vide its letter
No. 012/VGL/091/250620, dated 23-06-2014, Shri Arun Kumar Bhattacharya, IAS (Retd.) has been appointed as
Independent External Monitor (IEM) of GSI with immediate effect vide GSI Memo No. 704/C-11021/2(CVC)/2012-Vig.
Vol.-II, dated 08-07-2014. The appointment of Shri Bhattacharya, as IEM is initially for a period of three years.
