It has been decided by the DG GSI that DDG will continue to remain Appointing Authority and Disciplinary Authority in respect of all Group B Non Gazetted posts and also in respect all Group C posts of General Central Service in CHQ GSI.
This notification, issued by the Geological Survey of India (GSI) on January 29, 2015, concerns the delegation of power regarding disciplinary matters within the organization's Central Headquarters (CHQ). Specifically, it addresses authority over Group B Non-Gazetted posts and Group C posts of the General Central Service.
The notification modifies a previous directive from February 7, 2000, which delegated authority to the Deputy Director General (DDG) in charge of the personnel wing to impose penalties under Rule 11 of the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965. The Director General (DG), GSI, served as the Appellate Authority in these cases.
Following the creation of a post of Additional Director General (ADG PA) in the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG), and pending a regular appointment to that position, the DG, GSI has decided that the DDG PA will continue to serve as both the Appointing Authority and Disciplinary Authority for the aforementioned Group B and C posts. However, the ADG PA will now act as the Appellate Authority in disciplinary cases where the DDG PA has served as the Disciplinary Authority. The Director General of GSI is Harbans Singh. The notification number is 1428C110122Delegation of Power99Vig. Vol. I. and was published in the Gazette of India, Part III, Section 1, No. 01 on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
