No. PPR/P/052/18/DD/12/INF/19/DC/1355/2020.—In terms of the provisions of Section 21B(3) of the
Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 read with Rules 18(17) and 19(1) of the Chartered Accountants (Procedure of
Investigations of Professional and Other Misconduct and Conduct of Cases) Rules, 2007, the Disciplinary Committee
has held CA. Anand Mallikarjun Ukamanal (Membership No. 130139), S/o Mr. M G Ukamanal, Ashok
Building, Behind S S Temple, VIJAYAPURA 586 101, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the
meaning of Items (5),(6),(7) & (8) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently ordered for
removal of name of CA. Anand Mallikarjun Ukamanal (Membership No. 130139) from the Register of Members
for a period of 02(Two) years and also imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000/-(Rupees Fifty Thousand only) to be paid within
3 (three) months and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time his name be removed for additional
1(one) month. Since the Respondent has already paid the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the
aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section
20 of the aforesaid Act, read with Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the name of said
CA. Anand Mallikarjun Ukamanal (Membership No. 130139) was removed from the Register of Members for
a period of 2(Two) years with effect from 4th February, 2022. Aggrieved by Order of the Committee, the
Respondent preferred an Appeal in terms of Section 22G of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and the Appellate
Authority vide its order dated 3rd July, 2022 had modified the period of removal of name from 2 years to 18(eighteen)
months. Accordingly, in pursuance of the said order of the Appellate Authority, the notification dated 4th February,
2022 wherein the name of CA. Anand Mallikarjun Ukamanal (Membership No. 130139) was removed from the
Register of Members for a period of 2(two) years is hereby modified to the extent that the name of CA. Anand
Mallikarjun Ukamanal (Membership No. 130139) stands removed for a period of 18(eighteen) months instead
of 2(two) years w.e.f. 4th February, 2022.
