This report aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the notification issued by the ICAI on January 11, 2022, concerning disciplinary action against a chartered accountant. The analysis is based solely on the information provided in the notification text.
**3. Policy Overview:**
* This is an enforcement action under the existing regulatory framework of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and related rules and regulations, rather than a new policy or amendment.

This includes imposing penalties for non-compliance and ensuring accountability within the profession.
**4. Background and Rationale:**
* The notification implies that there are existing guidelines or rules that restrict the number of audits a chartered accountant can conduct. * **Timelines and Procedures:** The notification indicates specific timelines:
* CA. Rao was given three months to pay the fine.
* The removal from the register is effective from January 11, 2022, for one month.
**8. Expected Outcomes / Impact of Changes:**
The likely intended outcome of this enforcement action is:
* **Deterrence:** Discourage other chartered accountants from exceeding audit limits and violating professional conduct standards.
* **Compliance:** Reinforce adherence to ICAI guidelines and regulations.
* **Public Trust:** Maintain public confidence in the integrity and accountability of the chartered accountancy profession.
* **Temporary professional limitation:** Inability of CA. Rao to operate as a registered chartered accountant for one month.
**9. Conclusion:**
