The Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of
India has sponsored a seven-day Gandhi Shilp Bazaar under its Marketing Support
and Services Scheme. M/s Balnath Gramin Vikas Mahila Bahuudeshiya Sevabhavi
Sanstha, Beed, is serving as the implementing agency and organizing the event at
Patidar Bhavan, Jalna Road, Sambhajinagar, from December 16 to 22, 2025.
Shri Anil Bhalerao, Upadhyaksh, Garware Community Centre, Sambhajinagar,
inaugurated the exhibition on Tuesday (December 16, 2025), alongside Shri Milind
Damodre, New India Insurance. They lit the traditional lamp in the presence of Shri
Aman Kumar Jain, Assistant Director, Office of the Development Commissioner
(Handicrafts), Union Ministry of Textiles, Handicrafts Service Centre,
Sambhajinagar; Smt. Malti Dutta, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Ch.
Sambhajinagar, Union Ministry of Tourism; and Dr. Rupali Kaderekar, Chief Medical
Officer, CGHS, Sambhajinagar.
Artisans from West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat,
Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, and Rajasthan displayed and sold their handicraft
items. Handloom weavers from the Vidarbha region and Solapur also participated.
The exhibition will remain open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily until December 22,
2025. The public, including art connoisseurs and students are visiting the exhibition
in large numbers.
Cultural performances by Khanderao Kala Mandal, led by Shri Dileep Khanderao and
Ajay Shendge, and organized by India Tourism, Sambhajinagar, enthralled all in the
inaugural event. The program featured Ganesh Vandana in Marathi folk style,
Kathak and Odissi dances, and Lavani performances.
The exhibition showcases a diverse array of crafts, including embroidery works,
