India Post has extended the submission deadline for the "Dhai Akhar" National Letter Writing Campaign to January 31, 2026. The campaign encourages letter writing amongst students, focusing on creativity, language skills, and emotional expression. The theme is "Letter to My Role Model," and entries can be handwritten in English, Hindi, or any vernacular language.
Word limits are 1000 words for the Envelope category (EC) and 500 words for the Inland Letter Card category (ILC). Students can participate in two age groups: up to 18 years and above 18 years, under both Envelope and ILC formats.
Cash prizes are awarded at the Circle level (Maharashtra & Goa) as follows: ₹25,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000. National level prizes are ₹50,000, ₹25,000, and ₹10,000 in each category. Participants must include an age declaration: "I certify that I am below/above 18 years as on 01/01/2025.”
Schools can collect and submit letters to The Director, Mumbai GPO, Mumbai 400001. Selected schools may receive Circle-level recognition for exceptional participation. The Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Goa encourages participation.

India Post has extended the submission deadline for its flagship “Dhai Akhar” National Letter
Writing Campaign till 31 January 2026 to promote letter writing among students and strengthen
creativity, language skills, and emotional expression.
The campaign, themed Letter to My Role Model accepts handwritten entries in English, Hindi, or
any vernacular language. Word limits are 1000 words for Envelope category( EC) and 500 words
for Inland Letter Card category(ILC).
Students can participate in two age groups up to 18 years and above 18 years under both
Envelope and ILC formats. Winners receive cash prizes at the Circle level (Maharashtra & Goa)
₹25,000, ₹10,000, and ₹5,000 and at the National level ₹50,000, ₹25,000, and ₹10,000 in
each category.
