India Post, Mumbai Region has taken a transformative initiative to modernize,
sustainability and enhanced last-mile delivery services to the citizens of Mumbai.
Keeping in mind the rapid increase in the number of parcels and the growing need
to enhance delivery productivity, India Post, Mumbai Region, is adopting a new
smart option instead of traditional foot delivery.
India Post Mumbai Region, under its Smart Mobility Initiative, is introducing a
complete service ecosystem of electric two-wheelers for postmen/post women in
collaboration with myTVS of ki Mobility Solutions. The electric vehicles will be
provided to postmen and postwomen to facilitate services at newly established
independent distribution centres in Mumbai including Chakala, Mumbai GPO, Sion,
Dadar and Kalbadevi. Postmen/postwomen will use these vehicles to deliver all
types of postal mail including regular mail, accounts mail and parcels.
Under this initiative, 211 two-wheeler electric vehicles have been deployed and
dedicated charging stations have been installed in post offices to ensure smooth,
eco-friendly and cost-effective operations.
This pilot project will be launched on 4th December 2025 at 10:00 AM from Chakala
MIDC Post Office. Shri Amitabh Singh, Chief Postmaster General, Maharashtra and
Goa Circle, Smt. Kaiya Arora, Director, Postal Services, India Post, Mumbai Region,
and senior leadership of myTVS of ki Mobility Solutions will be present on the occasion.
