One such notification concerns the Indian Railways and specifically addresses the energization of newly erected overhead equipment on the proposed UP bypass lines in the Salem Division of Southern Railway. It serves notice that the 25000 Volts, 50 Hz, AC overhead traction wires will be energized on or after 31.05.2023 on the completed section of the proposed UP bypass lines between Karuppur (KPPR) and Magnesite junction (MGSJ) stations from location 328/15A (chainage 328/459.00) to location 1/5 (chainage 1/121.50) in connection with the doubling of tracks between Salem and Metturdam in Salem division of Southern Railway. From that date forward, the overhead traction lines should be treated as "LIVE" at all times, and unauthorized personnel are prohibited from approaching or working near the overhead lines.
