NOTIFICATION Whereas the draft of the Karnataka Pre-University Course State Level Public Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2023 was published as required by sub-section (2) of section 22 and sub-section (1) of section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995) in Notification No. EP 11 TPU 2023 dated 9th February 2023 in part IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette, Extraordinary No.66 dated 10th February 2023inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby withinfifteen days from the date of its publication in the official Gazette. W hereas, the said Gazette was made available to the public on 10thFebruary 2023. And whereas no objections and suggestions were received by the Government within the specified period. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 22 read with sub-section (1) of the section 145 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act 1 of 1995),the Government of Karnataka hereby makes the following rules, namely:- RULES 1. Title and commencement.- (1) These rules may be called the Karnataka Pre-University Course State Level Public Examination (Amendment) Rules, 2023. (1)R.N.I. No. KARBIL/2001/47147 POSTAL REGN. No. RNP/KA/BGS/2202/2017-19 Licensed to post without prepayment WPP No. 297 2 (2) They shall come into force from the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette. 2.Amendment of rule 29.- In the Karnataka Pre-University Course State Level Public Examination Rules, 1997, in Rule 29, for sub-rule (4), the following shall be substituted, namely:- “(4) In theory subjects,- (a) If there is an upward revision of one mark or more marks of the total marks of the concerned paper, after revaluation, in any of the subjects, then the mark or marks so revised will be updated and the fee paid for revaluation shall be refunded; (b) If there is a downward revision of one mark or more marks of the total marks of the concerned paper, after revaluation, in any of the subjects, then the marks so revised will be updated and the fee paid for revaluation shall be forfeited; (c) If there is no revision of marks of the total marks of the concerned paper, after revaluation, in any of the subjects, then the marks so awarded will remain the same and the fee paid for revaluation shall be forfeited; and (d) The marks awarded in the first valuation in respect of that answer paper shall stand annulled. The revised marks awarded in the revaluation shall be the marks for the said answer paper and a fresh marks card shall be issued incorporating the revised marks so awarded in the revaluation.” BY ORDER AND IN THE NAME OF THE GOVERNOR OF KARNATAKA (PadminiS.N.)
