The notification, SRO A-26/2017, pertains to amendments to the Tamil Nadu Factories Rules, 1950, made in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 112 of the Factories Act, 1948. (G.O. Ms. No. 105, Labour and Employment (M1), 25th May 2017).
The amendments specify that in rule 3, sub-rule (3), the expression "may accord the permission applied for:" is replaced with "shall accord the permission applied for within thirty days from the date of receipt of such application:".
In rule 4, sub-rule (6), after the expression "Form No.4:", the phrase "within thirty days from the date of receipt of application referred to in sub-rule (2):" is inserted.
In rule 7, sub-rule (5), the expression "The Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories may renew the licence:" is replaced with "The Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories shall renew the licence within thirty days from the date of receipt of application referred to in sub-rule (2):”.
