During his review-cum-inspection visit to Nagpur on 01 May 2026, Maj Gen Vivek
Tyagi, Additional Director General, NCC Maharashtra Directorate, paid a courtesy call
on Shri Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways. The
interaction focused on expanding NCC’s footprint in remote regions of Vidarbha,
including Gadchiroli and Chandrapur.
Maj Gen Tyagi extended Maharashtra Day greetings and highlighted NCC cadets’
contributions to community development and national campaigns such as road
safety awareness, anti-drug drives, and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aligned with the
vision of Viksit Bharat. He also sought support for strengthening infrastructure in
Nagpur, Mumbai, and Kolhapur, including a proposed State Academy at Nagpur.
He flagged challenges in advancing drone and cyber training for Vidarbha cadets
