Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the Central Government hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations

2. “स्नातकोत्तर जचदकत्सा जिषा ा जिजनयमािली, 2000” में “जिभागीय प्रजिषा ण सुजिधाएं” िीषकड के ऄंतगडत खडं 11 म ें
प्रथम पर ाग्राफ के पश्चात् जनम्नजलजखत िोडा िाएगा :
बिते दक ईस ऄजत जििेषज्ञता पाठ्यक्रम के जलए स्ट्टाफ, ऄिसंरचना और न दाजनक सामग्री की ित ें परू ी कर

NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 22nd July, 2020
No. MCI-18(1)/2020-Med./110890.—In exercise of powers conferred by Section 33 of the Indian Medical
Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956), the Medical Council of India with the previous sanction of the Central Government
hereby makes the following regulations to further amend the “Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000”
namely:-
1. (i) These Regulations may be called the “Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2020.”
(ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2000”, In Clause 11, under the heading of
“Departmental training Facilities”, the following shall be added after first paragraph:
Provided that Super speciality courses can also be started in the Independent parent broad speciality
Department, subject to fulfilling the staff, infrastructure and clinical material requirement for that
Super speciality course. The dedicated Faculty for the Super-Speciality course shall not be
considered for allocation of postgraduate seats in the Broad specialty course. Further provided that
not more than three Super-Speciality courses can be started in parent Broad Speciality Department.
Provided further that this proviso shall not be applicable for well established Super Speciality
courses of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Medical Gastroenterology, Medical Oncology, Neonatology,
Nephrology, Neurology, Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Paediatric Surgery,
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology and
Urology/Genitourinary surgery.
