Short title and commencement.- 1) These rules may be called the Merchant Shipping (Recruitment and Placement of Seafarers) Amendment Rules, 2022. 2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Merchant Shipping (Recruitment and Placement of Seafarers) Rules, 2016 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 9, in sub-rule (3), after the word "licence", the words "within fifteen days" shall be inserted. 3. In the said rules, in rule 19, in sub-rule (3), for the words "as far as possible within reasonable time", the words "within a period of sixty days" shall be substituted. [F.
