10 Years of UPI, Says Phone Has Become the
Wallet of Every Indian

Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Savitri Thakur celebrated the completion of 10
years of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
In a post on 'X' the Union Minister of State said that there was a time when carrying cash was a must,
while today, phone has become the wallet. She said that from chai stalls to college canteens, and from
villages to big businesses, UPI has made payments remarkably simple โ a few taps, a few seconds and
zero hassle.
She said that this ease and speed of digital payments reflects the India that is being built today.
