Posted On: 23 SEP 2026 1:16PM by PIB Delhi The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is geared up to participate actively in Special Campaign 6, being organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). The Campaign

will be undertaken in two phases:

1. Preparation Phase: 15 September to 30 September 2026

2. Implementation Phase: 2 October to 31 October 2026 Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision to institutionalize Swachhata and minimize pendency in Government the campaign aimed at promoting cleanliness, streamlining work, addressing pending grievances. Under the guidance of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, special attention to be given to field and outstation offices that interface directly with the public.

The Special Campaign 6 in the Ministry of Home Affairs will focus on creating sustainable and environment-friendly workplaces, while simultaneously addressing pendency in various categories of references and matters. These include references from Members of Parliament, references from State Governments, Parliament Assurances, Inter-Ministerial Consultations, Public Grievances and Appeals, as well as improved record management.The implementation of Special Campaign 6 is being monitored at the highest level in the Ministry. The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organizations (CPOs) have been sensitized about the importance of the Campaign and have been encouraged to make concerted efforts and go the extra mile to achieve the objectives and targets identified under the Campaign.

The Ministry remains committed to institutionalizing the gains of the Special Campaign through sustained efforts towards cleanliness, efficient record management, timely disposal of pending matters and creation of cleaner, greener and more productive workplaces.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and its attached/subordinate organizations have been actively participating in the Special Campaign for reducing pendency and promoting cleanliness and efficient record management. During the period from November 2025 to August 2026, the Ministry and its field/outstation offices made significant progress in the disposal of pending matters and creation of a cleaner and more efficient workplace.

The key achievements during the period are as follows:

761 Swachhta campaigns were conducted at various locations by the Ministry, including its field and outstation offices.

299 references from Members of Parliament, 336 references from State Governments and 7 PMO references were disposed of.

A total of 52,050 Public Grievances and 7,410 Public Grievance Appeals received during the period were disposed of by the Ministry.

1,02,084 sq. ft. of office space was freed in the offices of MHA and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).

To facilitate smooth collation of data and ensure its accuracy, the Ministry of Home Affairs has been utilizing an intra-Ministry portal through which all Divisions of the Ministry, as well as the Union Territories and Delhi Police, upload campaign-related data. The portal has enabled effective coordination with various Divisions and offices and has facilitated timely collection and consolidation of accurate data.
