The Ministry of Steel, Government of India, is inviting applications for the "Bharat Steel Awards - 2026" to recognise exemplary performance and significant contributions across critical areas of the steel sector. The awards will be conferred in seven categories: Efficiency Award (Company), Export Award (Company), Sustainability Award (Company), Indigenization Award (Team), Innovation through R&D (Team), Safety Award (Company & Team), and Exceptional Contribution in Steel sector Award (Individual). Applications are invited online through the Ministry of Steel awards portal: https://awards.steel.gov.in. Guidelines regarding eligibility criteria and other terms and conditions are available at the same portal, and can also be accessed through the MHA Award Portal (https://awards.gov.in). Applications are open from January 9th, 2026, and the last date for receiving applications is February 7th, 2026.

The Ministry of Steel, Government of India has introduced a new award scheme titled “Bharat Steel
Awards” to recognise exemplary performance and significant contributions across critical areas of the
steel sector.
The awards shall be conferred across the following seven categories-
i. Efficiency Award (Company)
ii. Export Award (Company)
iii. Sustainability Award (Company)
iv. Indigenization Award (Team)
v. Innovation through R&D (Team)
vi. Safety Award (Company & Team)
vii. Exceptional Contribution in Steel sector Award (Individual)
The applications are invited online through the Ministry of Steel awards portal https://awards.steel.gov.in .
