Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change MoEFCC to participate in Special Campaign 6 from 2nd – 31st October 2026, for institutionalizing Swachhata and Minimizing Pendency

Posted On: 16 SEP 2026 3:32PM by PIB Delhi The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) today announced the Special Campaign 6 that would be observed from 2nd to 31st October, 2026 for institutionalising Swachhata and minimising pendency in Government Offices. On the occasion, the Department also launched the Web-portal for the Special Campaign in New Delhi. The Campaign includes a Preparatory Phase from 15th to 30th September 2026, the Implementation Phase from 2nd to 31st October 2026 and the Evaluation Phase from 16th to 30th November 2026.

The Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) would be participating in the special campaign 6. It would have a special focus on field/outstation offices responsible for service delivery or having public interface, in addition to the Ministries/Departments and their attached/ subordinate offices/ autonomous organisations etc.

The Special Campaign this year would emphasize on scientific e-waste management with the objective of ‘Effective Collection, Segregation and Disposal of e-waste’. DARPG has also circulated the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for disposal of e-waste during the Special Campaign 6, which inter-alia includes the Purpose, Applicable Provisions, Eligible Entities, Phase-wise SOP including Internal Identification and Declaration, and E-Auction/Disposal via Authorised Platforms.

The highlights of the achievements made by the MoEFCC and its Organisations during December 2025 to August 2026, as uploaded on Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) portal are as

under:

8,931 Public Grievances disposed of.

1,146 Public Grievance Appeals disposed of.

4,898 Square feet of space freed.

1,501 files weeded out.

8 Parliamentary Assurances, 52 PMO References and 228 MP References addressed.

48 Cleanliness campaigns organized.

Rs.11,35,873 Revenue earned through scrap disposal.

In order to sensitise the Divisions, Organisations and Offices under the MoEFCC about the Special Campaign 6, a preparatory meeting under the Chairmanship of Additional Secretary (MoEFCC) was held on 03.09.2026. The Nodal Officers of Divisions, Autonomous Bodies, Subordinate Offices/Attached Offices, Regional Offices, etc. of the Ministry, were requested to identify the targets on all parameters during the Preparatory Phase.This would include identification of cleanliness sites, space management and beautification, disposal of scrap/redundant items, MP references, State Govt. references, inter-Ministerial references, Parliamentary Assurances, PMO references, Public Grievances and its Appeals, Rules/procedures for simplification and Record Management Activities, as done in the earlier campaigns.

MoEFCC is committed to sincere and dedicated efforts to identify the targets during the Preparatory Phase from 15th to 30th September 2026 of the Special Campaign 6. These targets would be achieved during the Implementation Phase from 2nd to 31st October 2026, in respect of the Secretariat and Subordinate Offices/Autonomous Bodies, etc. under the Ministry.
