ABSTRACT
Unlawful Association - Declaration of the ‘Students Islamic Movement of
India’ (SIMI) as an unlawful Association by the Central Government under
Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967) –
Exercising the powers under sections 7 and 8 of the Act – Directions of the
Central Government to exercise the powers by the State Government,
Collectors & District Magistrates and Commissioners of Police – Orders –
Issued.

ORDER:-
The following notification shall be published in an Extra-Ordinary issue
of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette Part-II, dated:22-03-2012.
NOTIFICATION
The following Notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government
of India, New Delhi, No. S.O.361(E), dt. 1-3-2012 is republished:-
S.O.361(E):- Whereas, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section(1) of
Section 3 of Unlawful Activities(Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the Central
Government has declared the “Students Islamic Movement of India(SIMI)” as
an unlawful association vide notification number S.O.224(E), dated the 3rd
February,2012, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II,
Section 3, Sub-section(ii) of the same date.
Now, therefore, in exercise in exercise of the powers conferred by
Section 42 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967),
the Central Government hereby directs that all the powers which are
exercisable by it under Section 7 and 8 of the said Act, shall be exercised
also by the State and Union territory Administrations in relation to the above
said unlawful association.

Now, therefore, in terms of the Central Government directions
communicated in the letter 2nd read above, the State Government hereby
directs that the powers conferred under sections 7 and 8 of the said Act shall
be exercised by all the Collectors and District Magistrates and the
Commissioners of Police in relation to the above said unlawful association.
