Whereas, in the reference first read above, the Director General, Anti-
Corruption Bureau has informed that Sri Merajoth Jagan Naik, Mandal
Revenue Officer, Nidamaru Mandal, West Godavari District was trapped by
the Anti-Corruption Bureau Officials on 21.05.2005, when he demanded and
accepted a bribe amount of Rs.1,500/- from the complainant Sri M.Bhaskar
Raju, R/o. Gunaparru village, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari District for
showing official favour of sending a favorable report on the death of brother
of the complainant late M.Nagaperraju to the Branch Manager, Andhra Bank,
Ganapavaram Branch, West Godavari District. The D.G, A.C.B., has
recommended for prosecution of the A.O., in a Court of Law and accordingly,
Government have issued vide reference 2nd read above. The DG, A.C.B., has
filed Charge Sheet before the court of Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases,
Vijayawada on 10.04.2006.
And whereas, in the reference 3rd read above, the DG A.C.B., Hyderabad
has forwarded a copy of the judgment dated:26.08.2011 of the Hon’ble Court
of the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Vijayawada delivered on
26.08.2011 in C.C.No.21/2006, wherein, the Hon’ble Special Judge for SPE &
ACB Cases, Vijayawada found the Accused officer Sri Merajoth Jogan Naik,
Mandal Revenue Officer, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari District guilty and
sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of six months
and to pay a fine of Rs.2,000/- in default to suffer simple imprisonment for
one month for the offence punishable under section 7 of Prevention of
(P.T.O):: 2 ::
Corruption Act, 1988 and also sentenced him to undergo rigorous
imprisonment for a period of one year and to pay a fine of Rs.3,000/- in
default to suffer simple imprisonment for three months for the offence
punishable under section 13 (1) (d) read with 13(2) of Prevention of
Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences shall run concurrently.
And whereas, it is considered that the conduct of the said Sri Merajoth
Jogan Naik, Mandal Revenue Officer, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari
District which has led to his conviction, is such as to render his further
retention in the public service undesirable.
And whereas, the Government of Andhra Pradesh have examined the
matter in the light of the above judgment and in terms of G.O.Ms.No.2,
General Administration (Service-C) Dept., Dt.04-01-1999 read-with
G.O.Ms.No.240, General Administration Department, Dated: 14-08-2003 and
decided to impose a major penalty of dismissal from the Government service
on Sri Merajoth
Jogan Naik, Mandal Revenue Officer, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari
District for having found him guilty of the charges framed against him under
section 7 and clause (d) of sub-section (1) of section 13 read-with sub-
section(2) of section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988; and
convicted and imposed sentence upon him;
Now, therefore in exercise of the powers conferred under Rule-9(x) read-
with sub-rule(i) of Rule 25 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services
(Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1991 and in terms of G.O.Ms.No.2
General Administration (Services.C) Department, dt.04.04.1999, read with
G.O.Ms.No.240, General Administration Dept., dt.14.08.2003 the
Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby dismiss Sri Merajoth Jogan Naik,
Mandal Revenue Officer, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari District from
Government service with immediate effect.
The following Notification shall be published in the extraordinary issue
of Andhra Pradesh Gazette.

NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule-9(x) read-with sub-rule
(i) of Rule 25 of the Andhra Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and
Appeal) Rules, 1991 and G.O.Ms.No.2 General Administration (Services)
Department, dt.04.04.1999, read
with G.O.Ms.No.240, General Administration Dept., dt.14.08.2003
the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby dismiss Sri Merajoth Jogan
Naik, Mandal Revenue Officer, Nidamarru Mandal, West Godavari District
from Government service with immediate effect
The Chief Commissioner of Land Administration, Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad shall take necessary further action in the matter accordingly.
