GOVERNMENT OF ANDHRA PRADESH ABSTRACT Revenue Department – Village Administration – The Andhra Pradesh Village Revenue Officers Service Rules – Amendment – Orders – Issued. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - REVENUE (VA) DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms.No. 216 Dated:31 .03.2012 Read the following 1) G.O.Ms.No.39, Revenue (VA) Department, dated 11.01.2008. 2) G.O.Ms.No.158, Revenue (VA) Department, dated 13.02.2009 3) G.O.Ms.No.458, Revenue (VA) Department, dated 18.05.2010. <<<>>> O R D E R: In the G.O 1st read above, Government have framed service rules regulating the service conditions of Village Revenue Officers in the state. Certain amendments were made to the said rules vide G.Os 2nd and 3rd read above. Rule 3 (ii) of the said rules, provides that the Nominee Village Administrative Officers, who were earlier appointed under rule-25 of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Village Administrative Officers Service Rules, 1990, shall be eligible for appointment to the post of Village Revenue Officer. 2. It has been brought to the notice of the Government that certain erstwhile Village Administrative Officers had nominated more than one person as their substitutes during their leave period in different spells. As there was no limitation regarding the number of nominees who can work in a single post of Village Administrative Officer such persons, who were appointed as nominee Village Administrative Officers under rule 25 of the Andhra Pradesh Village Administrative Officers Service Rules, 1990 during the leave periods have requested to appoint them as Village Revenue Officer under rule 3 (ii) of Andhra Pradesh Village Revenue Officers Service Rules, 2008. 3. The Government, after careful examination of the matter, have decided to amend rule 3 (ii) of the Andhra Pradsh Village Revenue Officer Service Rules, limiting such appointments to only one nominee per Village Administrative Officer, and if there are more than one nominee of the same Village Administrative Officer, to consider only the last such nominee for appointment under this clause. 4. Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette issue dated 31.03.2012. NOTIFICATION In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to Article 309 of the Constitution of India, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Village Revenue Officers Service Rules issued in G.O.Ms.No.39, Revenue (VA) Department, dated 11.01.2008 and published in part-I Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 11.03.2008, as subsequently amended from time to time.
