Sericulture, Medak from Medak town to Sanga Reddy town (District head quarters) –
Permission accorded - Orders - Issued.

From the Commissioner of Sericulture, Hyderabad, D.O.Lr.No.COS
(Peshi)/2011, Dated: 20-09-2011.

ORDER:
In the letter read above, the Commissioner of Sericulture, Andhra Pradesh,
Hyderabad, has informed that Sericulture activity is promoted in Sanga Reddy division as
a part of Cluster Promotion Programmes supported by Government of India. There are
(650) acres of Mulberry plantation in Medak district out of which (525) acres are in Sanga
Reddy and Siddipet divisions and only (25) acres of Mulberry is available in Medak
division. Currently Sericulture activity is prominent in Sanga Reddy and Zaheerabad
areas. Sericulture activities are also covered under NREGS Schemes. For implementation
of NREGS linked Mulberry plantations Assistant Director, Sericulture need to contact the
Project Director, District Water Management Agency, Sanga Reddy regularly. There is a
good Sericulture farm adjacent to the highway, close to Sanga Reddy town in which
there is a scope to raise Mulberry nursery, garden and supply of Chawkie worms to the
Bivoltine farmers besides protecting the most valuable land from encroachments. By
having head quarters in Sanga Reddy, there can be a better liaison with the District
Collector and other development departments. The District Collector has appreciated the
advantages of shifting the Head quarters of O/o Assistant Director of Sericulture, Medak
to Sanga Reddy and also recommended the same.
2. The Commissioner of Sericulture, Hyderabad, has, therefore, requested the
Government to issue suitable orders for shifting of Office of the Assistant Director of
Sericulture, Medak from Medak Town to Sangareddy Town (District Head-quarters) in the
interest of Administrative convenience.
3. After careful consideration of the above circumstances reported by the
Commissioner of Sericulture, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, Government hereby accord
permission for shifting of Office of the Assistant Director of Sericulture, Medak from
Medak Town to Sangareddy Town (District Head-quarters) in the interest of
Administrative convenience.
4. The Commissioner of Sericulture, Hyderabad, shall take necessary action in the
matter accordingly.
