Acharya, IAS (RR:1983), formerly Chairman and Managing Director, M/s APIIC, Hyderabad, presently Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, A.P., Secretariat, Hyderabad – Detained in Police Custody – Placed under suspension under rule 3(2) of All India Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969 in respect of a criminal offence under investigation – Orders – Issued. ===================================================== GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (SC.D) DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms. No.89 Dated:04 -02-2012, -o0o- O R D E R : Whereas a case No. RC 035 2011A 0018 (EMAAR case) was registered against Sri B. P. Acharya, IAS, (RR:1983) (FIR Accused No.1, formerly Chairman and Managing Director, M/s APIIC, Hyderabad, presently Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Secretariat, Hyderabad by the Central Bureau of Investigation, Hyderabad Branch in connection with the EMAAR case ; And Whereas, the said Sri B. P. Acharya, IAS (RR:1983) was detained in Police Custody on 30.01.2012 at 15.00 hours and he is under detention for a period exceeding forty-eight hours. 2. And, whereas according to rule 3(2) of All India services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969, a Member of Service, who is detained in official custody whether on a criminal charge or otherwise for a period longer than forty eight hours shall be deemed to have been suspended by the Government. 3. Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred under rule 3(2) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1969, the Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby place the said Sri B. P. Acharya, IAS, (RR:1983), Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Secretariat, Hyderabad, under suspension in public interest with effect from 30.01.2012, the date on which he was detained and he shall continue to be under suspension until further orders. 4. Sri B. P. Acharya, IAS, (RR:1983) Principal Secretary to Government, Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, Secretariat, Hyderabad, shall during the period of suspension be paid subsistence allowance as is admissible under rule 4 of the All India Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969. During the period of suspension, the Headquarters of Sri B.P.Acharya, IAS, (RR:1983), shall be Hyderabad and he shall not leave the Headquarters without obtaining permission of the Government.
