## Report on the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Amendment Rules, 2021 **1. Executive Summary:** This report analyzes the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Amendment Rules, 2021 (hereafter referred to as "the Amendment"). The core purpose of this Amendment is to modify the age limit criteria for direct recruits and those recruited through specific agencies for Multi Tasking Staff positions within the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB). The key finding is that the amendment clarifies and potentially expands the age limit for recruitment under certain circumstances, while also specifying how the crucial date for determining age eligibility will be defined. **2. Introduction:** This report aims to provide an informative overview of the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Amendment Rules, 2021, based solely on the text provided. It focuses on the changes introduced by the amendment, their potential implications, and relevant implementation aspects as can be inferred from the text. **3. Policy Overview:** * This is an amendment to the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Rules, 2017. * The core objective of this amendment, as inferred from the text, is to revise and clarify the age limit criteria for recruitment of Multi Tasking Staff through different channels within the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board. **4. Background and Rationale:** This amendment likely addresses a perceived need to adjust or clarify the age limit criteria for Multi Tasking Staff recruitment, especially considering different recruitment pathways (direct recruitment vs. recruitment through agencies/employment exchanges). The amendment possibly aims to ensure a broader pool of eligible candidates or address inconsistencies in age limit application across different recruitment methods. **5. Key Provisions / Changes:** This amendment focuses *specifically* on changing the age limit criteria within the original policy. * **Specific Part of Original Policy Changed:** The amendment modifies the information listed under column number 6, presumably related to age limits, in the Schedule to the original notification. * **New Rule/Provision:** The amendment introduces the following rules regarding age limits: * For direct recruits, the age limit is "Between 18-25 years." * For recruitment made through DSSSB or any other similar recruitment agencies, the age limit is "Between 18-27 years." * Note 1: The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be as advertised by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board/Competent Authority. * Note 2: In the case of recruitment made through the employment exchange, the crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date up to which the employment exchange is asked to submit the names. * **Difference/Effect of the Change:** The amendment introduces a higher age limit (18-27 years) for candidates recruited through DSSSB or similar agencies compared to direct recruits (18-25 years). Furthermore, it specifies how the crucial date for determining age eligibility will be determined for both recruitment through DSSSB/agencies and through employment exchanges. This change will likely affect the eligibility of a wider pool of candidates who are being recruited through DSSSB or similar agencies. **6. Target Audience and Stakeholders:** Based on the provided text, the following are directly affected by this amendment: * Individuals seeking Multi Tasking Staff positions within the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board. * The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) itself, as the recruitment agency. * Other similar recruitment agencies involved in the recruitment process. * Employment exchanges involved in referring candidates. **7. Implementation Aspects (Inferred):** * **Responsible Agency/Bodies:** The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is the primary body responsible for implementing these amended rules. * **Timelines/Procedures:** The amendment comes into force on the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. The "crucial date" for determining age limit is dependent on the recruitment method: * DSSSB/Agencies: As advertised by the DSSSB/Competent Authority. * Employment Exchange: The last date for name submission to the exchange. * The DSSSB competent authority is responsible for advertising the age cut-off date. **8. Expected Outcomes / Impact of Changes:** The likely intended outcome of these specific changes includes: * Increased pool of potentially eligible candidates for Multi Tasking Staff positions, specifically through DSSSB or similar agencies. * Clarification on how age limits are determined for different recruitment methods, potentially reducing ambiguity and disputes. * More streamlined and consistent recruitment process. **9. Conclusion:** The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Multi Tasking Staff Recruitment Amendment Rules, 2021, represents a specific change to the existing recruitment rules, focused on clarifying and potentially expanding age limit criteria based on the recruitment channel. The amendment aims to provide more explicit guidance on age eligibility determination and, by raising the upper age limit for certain recruitment pathways, may broaden the pool of eligible candidates. This amendment is significant as it can impact the composition and diversity of the Multi Tasking Staff within the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board.
