**Summary:**
The Ministry of Cooperation established the National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002, to boost exports from the cooperative sector. NCEL's export performance includes a total volume of 1,349,831.05 MT with a total value of ₹54,03,01,47,854.00 (₹5403.01 crores).
Key export commodities and their values for the years 2023-2025 are as follows:
* **2023-24:** Total exports amounted to 266,059.30 MT valued at ₹11,131,342,714, including Non-Basmati White Rice (230310.01 MT, ₹9,931,363,187), Whole Broken Rice (32194.00 MT, ₹1,070,769,516), Fresh Red Onion (2530.00 MT, ₹94,094,000), and Wheat Grain (1025.29 MT, ₹35,116,011).
* **2024-25:** Total exports reached 1,082,973.75 MT valued at ₹42,835,644,321, encompassing a range of commodities such as Baby Food Milk, Barley, Black Lentils, Black Pepper, Brown Sugar, Chick Peas, Corn Flakes, Cumin Seeds, Fresh Red Onion, Garlic Powder, and others. Significant exports included Non-Basmati White Rice (280003.31 MT, ₹12,527,069,648) and Whole Broken Rice (775596.00 MT, ₹28,450,081,863).
* **2025 (to date):** Total exports amounted to 798.005 MT valued at ₹63,160,818.10, including Whole Cumin Seed (84.00 MT, ₹17,624,007.00), Indian Parboiled Rice (520.00 MT, ₹18,278,260.00), Turmeric Finger (168.00 MT, ₹25,948,440.00), and Indian Long Grain Rice (26.005 MT, ₹1,310,111.10).
The Ministry of Cooperation is collaborating with Indian Missions abroad to gather market information and introduce NCEL to importers. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Cooperation (MoC) and the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (MoSMED) of the Republic of Zambia to foster trade alliances between cooperatives. NCEL has also established MoUs with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Senegal and Sinton Vantage Trading Pvt. Ltd. PT Sinton Surini Nusantara of Indonesia.

The Ministry of Cooperation has set up National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) under the
Multi-State Cooperative Societies (MSCS) Act, 2002 as an umbrella organization to give thrust to
exports from cooperative sector. This society will focus on exporting the surpluses available in the
Indian cooperative sector by accessing wider markets beyond the geographical contours of the
country, thereby, increasing the demand of Indian Cooperative products/services across the globe and
fetch best possible prices for such products/services. It will promote exports through various activities
including procurement, storage, processing, marketing, branding, labelling, packaging, certification,
research and development, etc, and trading of all types of goods and services produced by cooperative
societies. The society will also help in arranging finance, provide technical guidance, help in training
and capacity building, develop and maintain market intelligence system, implement related
government schemes and undertake any other such activities which will increase exports from the
cooperative sector and other related entities.
Any multi-State co-operative society or any co-operative society registered or deemed to be registered
under any law relating to co-operative societies in force in any State or Union Territory is eligible for
membership of this Society.

The Ministry of Cooperation is working to strengthen the cooperative export ecosystem through Indian
Missions abroad by requesting them to provide information to NCEL regarding the availability of
market and introduce NCEL to the importers in their specific country.
Ministry of Cooperation (MoC) and Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development
(MoSMED) of the Republic of Zambia for promotion of cooperatives have signed MoU which is
aimed at inter-alia, providing required facilities and means for trade alliances between cooperatives of
both nations.
