Ministry of Home Affairs NDRF Academy Organises Two-Day Road Accident Response Course for Traffic Volunteers in Nagpur प्रव तथ: 28 JUL 2026 4:18PM by PIB Mumbai Nagpur, 28 July 2026 The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Academy, Nagpur, inaugurated a two-day Road Accident Response Course for traffic volunteers of Nagpur on 27 July 2026. The training programme was inaugurated by Shri Gurminder Singh, Commandant (Training), NDRF Academy, in the presence of Shri Aaditya Mirkhelkar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Nagpur. Addressing the participants, Shri Gurminder Singh highlighted the crucial role of trained traffic volunteers in promoting road safety, ensuring effective traffic management, and supporting coordinated emergency response during road accidents and other emergencies. He stressed the importance of discipline, civic responsibility, and teamwork in assisting law enforcement agencies and serving the community. Emphasising the significance of the golden hour following a road accident, he stated that traffic volunteers often serve as the first responders and play a vital role in providing timely assistance that can save lives. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Aaditya Mirkhelkar appreciated the dedicated services rendered by traffic volunteers and underscored their significant contribution towards road safety and efficient traffic management in the city.The two-day training programme has been designed to enhance the capacity of traffic volunteers in road accident response by equipping them with essential skills in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), safe evacuation of accident victims for advanced medical care, and emergency preparedness.
