Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), inaugurated the
NIELIT Digital Recording Studio at NIELIT Bhawan, New Delhi today in the presence of Dr. M. M.
Tripathi, Director General, NIELIT. The NIELIT Digital Recording Studio has been established under
MeitY’s EdTech initiative to strengthen high-quality digital content creation and enhance the
quality of technology-enabled learning across the country. The studio will also serve as a key content
development facility for the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform, which is emerging as a major
national platform for digital skilling and learning.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri S. Krishnan highlighted the unique role played by NIELIT in expanding
access to quality skilling, particularly in remote and underserved regions. He noted NIELIT’s strong
presence in the North Eastern States and Union Territories including Jammu & Kashmir. Sharing anexperience from a visit to a North Eastern State, he observed that a significant number of NIELIT-trained
candidates were working in the State Secretariat, reflecting the tangible impact of NIELIT’s training
programmes in strengthening the local workforce and supporting governance systems.
Shri S. Krishnan also reflected on the vision of the institution’s founders, tracing its origins to the 1980s
when industry-oriented M.Tech and Diploma programmes were introduced with a focus on design and
practical skills. He emphasized that NIELIT has consistently aligned its programmes with industry
requirements and has evolved into a comprehensive institution catering to all levels of learners.
Dr. M. M. Tripathi, Director General, NIELIT, stated that the Digital Recording Studio will significantly
enhance NIELIT’s in-house capabilities for content creation and support large-scale skilling initiatives
across the country.
The event also witnessed the exchange of 12 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with 12 leading
organizations including Chanakya University, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), Cyber
Security Association of India (CSAI), Pavan Duggal Associates, Centre for Policy Research and
Governance (CPRG), Jindal Steel Ltd, Virtu Tech Pvt. Ltd., Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies
– Technical Campus (VIPS-TC), Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, SKD University, Rashtriya
Raksha University (RRU), and Hacktivspace Private Limited (Edza AI) to strengthen industry-driven
skilling, innovation, and capacity building in emerging technology domains.These collaborations will broadly focus on strengthening industry-aligned skilling and training, advancing
curriculum development and digital learning in emerging technologies, promoting research, innovation,
and consultancy initiatives, and enhancing capacity building, internships, and employability opportunities
for learners across the country.
