NOTIFICATION
The MaharashTra Medical council acT, 1965.
No.: MEDD-14010/2/2025-MMD (Adhi) .— Whereas, by Government Notification, Medical
Education and Drugs Department No.MMC-0822/C.R.-50/Act, dated 22.02.2024 issued under section
31 of the Maharashtra Medical Council Act, 1965 (Maharashtra Act No. 46 of 1965) (hereinafter
referred to as “the said Act”), the Government of Maharashtra has appointed Dr. Vinky Rughwani
as the Administrator of the Maharashtra Medical Council. The term of office of the Administrator
Dr. Vinky Rughwani was came to an end on 21.02.2025. The appointment of Dr. Vinky Mohanlal
Rughwani as Administrator was extended for a period of one year to discharge all the powers and
duties of the Council or until a new Council is duly constituted by election, whichever is earlier;
And whereas, the term of office of the Administrator Dr. Vinky Rughwani is coming to an end
on 20.02.2026;
And whereas, considering the necessity of maintaining continuity in the administrative work of
the Maharashtra Medical Council and the need to smoothly conduct the elections, the Government
of Maharashtra has decided to extend the tenure of Dr. Vinky Rughwani as the Administrator to
carry out all the powers and duties of the council;
Therefore, now, using the powers conferred by section 31 (1) of the said Act, the Government
of Maharashtra is extending the tenure of Dr. Vinky Mohanlal Rughwani, Former Vice President,
Maharashtra Medical Council, Mumbai, as the Administrator to carry out all the powers and duties
of the said council for a period of one year or until a new council is duly constituted through elections,
whichever occurs earlier.
