Government of India Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology ***** NOTICE Subject: Extension of Time for Inviting feedback/comments of stakeholders on the Draft amendments to Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 in relation to strengthening intermediary compliance with clarifications, advisories and directions issued by the Ministry and digital media oversight - reg. Dated: 10th April, 2026 The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has published the draft amendments to the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 on its website on 30th March, 2026 for public consultation. Feedback/comments from the stakeholders on the draft Rules were invited by 14th April, 2026. In response to the representations received from several stakeholders, the Ministry has decided to extend the last date for receipt of feedback/comments till 29th April, 2026. 2.
