Ministry of Power NTPC Electron Quiz Promotes Knowledge, Leadership and Competitive Spirit Among Youth 36 Teams Compete in Mumbai Regional Round of NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27

Mumbai : 17 September 2026 NTPC Western Region-I Headquarters organised the Mumbai Regional Round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026-27 today at Bharat Ratnam – Mega CFC, Andheri East, Mumbai. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 36 teams representing leading Engineering and Management institutions from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa.

The regional round was held on the theme “Anything and Everything from the World of Business and Management.” The quiz aimed to encourage students to learn about contemporary developments in leadership, markets, corporate strategy, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability.

The competition began with an on-the-spot written round, where all participating teams attempted a theme-based questionnaire. The top six teams then qualified for the multimedia on-stage final, which included audio-visual questions, rapid-fire rounds and buzzer-based questions.

Senior officials of NTPC were present on the occasion, including Shri Nirbhay Gupta, Executive Director (Nuclear). Addressing the participants, Shri Gupta said that the enthusiasm of young students reflects their interest in knowledge, business and innovation. He said NTPC remains committed to providing platforms that encourage intelligence, leadership and healthy competition among youth.Shri Anil Kumar Chawla, Regional Head of HR (West-I) & GM (HR), Nuclear, said that the Electron Quiz reflects NTPC’s belief that empowering young people is an important part of nation-building. He added that the event promotes learning, collaboration and the potential of young students.

The regional round was conducted by noted quiz master Shri Gautam Bose, founder of Greycells and an internationally recognised knowledge professional.

After an intense final, Sanidhy Singh Raghuwanshi and Dev Khemani of SPJIMR, Mumbai emerged as winners and received the first prize of ₹60,000 per team.

Ishaan Jayant Yewale and Rushab Gokul Jain Khivasara of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies secured the second position and received ₹40,000 per team. Shagun Srivastava and Johan Sam Biju of IIT Bombay secured the third position and received ₹20,000 per team.The first and second-place teams will represent NTPC Western Region-I at the National Level.

The NTPC Electron Quiz has been organised since 2004 and is one of NTPC’s flagship initiatives to engage with students and promote knowledge, analytical skills and competitive spirit.
