Delhi, the 5th January, 2023
F. No. 13(470)/UD/LB-1/MCD Elections/2022/DDLB/18-24.— On publication of the result of the general
election to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi under section 14 of Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957
(hereinafter referred to as "The Act”), by the State Election Commissioner of the National Capital Territory of Delhi
vide Notification No F.4 (47)/SEC/LAW/2022/8954 dated 07.12.2022, the Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory
of Delhi is pleased to convene the first meeting of the newly constituted Municipal Corporation of Delhi under section
73 of the Act on 06.01.2023 at 11.00 am at Aruna Asaf Ali Sabhagar, 4th floor, ‘A’ block, Dr. S.P.Mukherjee Civic
Centre, J. L. N. Marg, New Delhi. The Municipal Secretary will issue the required notice in this behalf.
The Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi under section 77 of the Act is further pleased to
nominate Ms. Satya Sharma, Councillor, Ward No.226 to preside over the meeting for the election of the Mayor. She
will be administered oath/affirmation as per section 32 of the Act, by Shri Santosh Kumar Rai, District Magistrate,
New Delhi. The other councilors will be administered oath/affirmation by the Presiding Officer.
The newly constituted Corporation will proceed to elect the Mayor, as required by section 35 of the Act. The
Mayor so elected will then assume the chair and proceed to conduct the election of the Deputy Mayor and six
members of the Standing Committee as required under section 35(1) and 45(1)(i) of the Act respectively.
