tlinistry of shipping, Government of rndia is run.i,g an Award Scheme rvith air
objecrive of promoting writing of books in Hindi anct translation of books fronr orher
languages into Hindi on subjects related to Indian porrs, Shipping and lnland Warer
Transport. Scheme is knolvn as .Aeatd Schemc for the bookc srlttcn orlginally in
Hindi and trsnalated into tlindt from other laaguagcs o! the subJectr reladng to
'lndian port3, shipping ald Inrend watcr Traalport." under this
scheme,
applications are invited in the following two categories for the year 20lg- 19:_
(a) For books written originally in Hindi on subjects relating to Inclian porrs, Shipping
and tnland Water Transpon; and
(l)) For books translated into Hindi from other languages on subjccts rclating ro Indian
Ports, Shipping and Inland Water Transport.
2. Awards:-
Follorving arvards,will be given under this Scheme for borh caregorics:

l. Amount of cash award Rs. 1,00,000/- Rs. 70,000/- Rs. 5O,000/
for the books written

3. Eligibility:-
All Indian citizens can participate in this Scheme.
4. Duratiotr of the Schemc:-
Books published during last ltve financial years from 2014-15 to 2018'19 (i.e-
frotn O1-04-2O14 to 31-03-2019) will be accePted under the Scheme. OIrlJi Prirrted
books will be accepted under this scheme.
General conditions:-
lU Book should contain n'tinimunr lO0 pages.'lhc
( ii) book should be an analytical review on the subject it deals u.irh. Books
\\/ntten iD tl.re fornr of thcsis of ph.D, poent, Novel. Story, pla),, elc. or tcxrbooks
shall not be eligible.
