The lndian Navy Personnel are being facilitated by Directorate General of shipping to join Merchant Navy in various roles after their retirement. 3' The Directorate General of Shipping intends to facilitate those Agniveers joining lndian Navy, who intend to take alternate career after their 4-years stint in lndian Navy. 4' ln order to facilitate their joining Merchant Navy, the Directorate General of Shipping has devised following schemes to Agniveers who meet the following minimum educational criterion either prior joining as Agniveers or during their 4-years as Agniveers in lndian Navy: - Class XXll Passed with 40% marks in Englishin either Class X or Class Xll and - 4oo/o aggregate in English, Mathematics & Science in Class X or 40 % aggregate in total in Class Xll. 5' Some schemes are also being devised for Agniveers with Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or lTl Trade certificate in Electronic /Electrical Stream (either they join lndian Navy after completing these courses or complete the same during their 4-years as Agniveers). 6.
