Parliament Question: Administrative and Financial Approval for Sports Projects

Shri Sudhakar Singh: Will the Minister of YOUTH AFFAIRS AND SPORTS be pleased to state: (a) whether administrative and financial approval is pending with the Government for the construction of sports infrastructure such as multipurpose indoor halls, synthetic athletics tracks, football/hockey grounds, swimming pools and training centres in other districts of Bihar including Buxar, Kaimur and Rohtas districts under the Khelo India Scheme; (b) whether it is a fact that communication was also sent by the Department of Sports, State Government of Bihar vide their letter No. 3128, dated 18.07.2025 to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports taking action on the said pending administrative and financial approval and if so, the current status thereof; (c) whether the Government proposes to accord the said pending administrative and financial approvals at the earliest; and (d) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor? ANSWER THE MINISTER OF YOUTH AFFAIRS & SPORTS [ DR. MANSUKH MANDAVIYA ] (a) No such approval is pending in this Ministry. (b) to (d) The State Government of Bihar, vide Letter No. 3128 dated 18.07.2025, submitted detailed project proposals, which have been received in the Ministry. Proposals received from the State/Union Territory Governments and other eligible entities for development of Page 1 of 2sports infrastructure and expansion of sports development initiatives are considered for financial support, subject to their completeness, technical feasibility, infrastructure gaps, sporting potential, readiness for implementation and availability of funds under the Scheme. ***** Page 2 of 2
