Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) the aims and objectives of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA);
(b) whether the Government, under the above Abhiyan has sanctioned a fifty-bed hostel
building in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh;
(c) if so, the village and mandal where the said hostel is proposed to be constructed and the
number of tribal students likely to be benefitted therefrom;
(d) the amount out of the total outlay of Rs.7,540 lakh that has been sanctioned, released and
spent for the said hostel; and
(e) the timeline expected for the said hostel to become operational?

(a): Hon'ble Prime Minister launched Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan
(DAJGUA) on 2nd October 2024. The Abhiyan comprises of 25 interventions implemented by
17-line Ministries and aims to saturate infrastructural gaps in 63,843 villages, improve access
to health, education, Anganwadi facilities and providing livelihood opportunities in 549
districts and 2,911 blocks in 30 States/UTs in 5 years.
The Abhiyan has total budgetary outlay of Rs.79,156 Cr (Central share: ₹56,333 Cr and
State share: ₹22,823 Cr). Each concerned Ministry has been allocated budget and targets under
Abhiyan and responsible for implementing the intervention assigned to it. The Abhiyan aims
at Saturation through convergence and outreach.
(b) & (c): Under the Abhiyan, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) has sanctioned one unit
of 60-bedded hostel building for ST students at APTW Residential School, Kavali, Nellore
District of Andhra Pradesh.
(d): The proposals are considered and approved as received from the State Governments in
accordance with the guidelines of the program. Accordingly, 31 number of Hostels have been
approved by the MoTA for the State of Andhra Pradesh at a total outlay of Rs. 7539.13 lakhs
including the hostel at Nellore District. The status of fund released by Ministry of Tribal Affairs
