Will the Minister of SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP be pleased to
state:
(a) the salient features of the Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Scheme along with the details
of funds sanctioned, allocated and utilized during the last three years and the current year in
Odisha under the said scheme;
(b) whether the Government is contemplating to include new courses under the said
scheme and if so, the details of such proposed courses thereof; and
(c) the total number of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students enrolled
and trained under the said scheme in Odisha along with the details thereof?

(a) The Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) Scheme under Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship (MSDE), aims to provide skill training in a non-formal mode at the doorsteps
of the beneficiary with 100% grant from the Government of India. The objective of the scheme
is to increase the household income by promoting self/wage employment through skill
development training. The main target of the JSS is to impart vocational skills to the non-
literates and persons having rudimentary level of education up to 8th standard and school
dropouts up to 12th standard in the age group of 15-45 years in both Rural and Urban areas.
The details of funds released during the last three years and the current year,till 31st
December 2025 in Odisha under the said scheme is attached as Annexure-I.
b) A total of 51 NSQF-aligned job roles, starting from level 2 to level 3, including 28 new-age
job roles, have recently been adopted for training under the JSS scheme, based on local
demand, ensuring regionally relevant while enhancing the employability and career prospects of
the beneficiaries. The details of the same are provided at Annexure-II.
(c) During the last three years and the current year till 31st December 2025, a total of 2.02
lakh beneficiaries have been trained, including 91,599 beneficiaries from Scheduled Caste (SC)
and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories, under JSS scheme in the State of Odisha. The
