SHRI BALWANT BASWANT WANKHADE: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the details of funds allocated and utilised for the construction of roads under Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) during the last three years and in the current year, district- wise; (b) whether any timeline has been fixed for completion of construction of roads under PMGSY; (c) if so, the details thereof; and (d) the details of the length of roads (in km) constructed under PMGSY during the last three years and in the current year particularly in Maharashtra? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a): Under the Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY), funds are being released by the Ministry to the State Government as a unit, and the State Government further allocates these funds at the district and sub-district levels. The funds are being released under PMGSY to the States based on the work sanctioned to them, as well as the unspent balances of previous releases available with them and compliance with programme guidelines. Under the PMGSY, the Ministry had released ₹2,708.72 crore as Central share to the State of Maharashtra, and the State has incurred an expenditure of ₹4,445.65 crore (including the State share) during the financial years 2022–23 to 2025–26 (as on 16.07.2025). The district-wise details of expenditure incurred, including under State share, during the last three years and current year is given at Annexure. (b) & (c): The Ministry has been implementing PMGSY since the year 2000, with various verticals focusing on new connectivity and upgradation works. The prescribed timeline for completion of projects under PMGSY-I (in States other than Chhattisgarh) was March 2025. The timeline for completion of ongoing projects under PMGSY I (in Chhattisgarh), PMGSY-II, PMGSY-III, and the Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism Affected Areas (RCPLWEA) is March 2026. PMGSY-IV has been approved by the Government to provide new connectivity to eligible 25000 habitations and the timeline for completion of works under this scheme is FY 2028-2029.
