(a) whether the Union Government has taken any steps to ensure allocation of
power from central power projects to Uttar Pradesh as per the requirement and to
ensure uninterrupted power supply in the Scheduled Caste dominated Shahjahanpur
Lok Sabha Constituency; and
(b) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) : The Government of India has allocated 9725.7 MW of power to Uttar
Pradesh from Central Sector Generating Station as on 30.06.2025 which comprises
9475.1 MW of firm power and 250.6 MW power from unallocated quota.
There has been significant increase in the availability of power in Uttar Pradesh.
The gap between the demand and availability of electricity in Uttar Pradesh has
declined to almost NIL in the current year 2025-26 (upto June, 2025). The details of
Power Supply Position of the State of Uttar Pradesh in terms of Energy during the last
three years and current year 2025-26 (upto June, 2025) are given at Annexure.
Electricity being a concurrent subject, the supply and distribution of electricity
to the various categories of consumers/areas/districts in a State/UT is looked after by
the respective State Government/Power Utility. However, the following steps have
been taken to support States/Distribution Utilities to provide uninterrupted power
supply in the States/UTs including the State of Uttar Pradesh:
(i) The Government of India has launched “Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme
(RDSS) - a Reforms based and Results linked Scheme” on 20th July 2021 with
the objective of improving the quality and reliability of power supply to
consumers through a financially sustainable and operationally efficient
distribution sector. The sunset date of the scheme is 31.03.2028.
(ii) Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) and Deendayal Upadhyaya
Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) have been implemented to achieve the objective
of providing uninterrupted power supply to the consumers by strengthening the
sub-transmission and distribution systems.
(iii) The Government of India has implemented the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har
Ghar Yojana – SAUBHAGYA in October, 2017 with the objective to achieve
universal household electrification for providing electricity connections to all
willing un-electrified households in rural areas and all willing poor households
in urban areas in the country.
(iv) Further, The Central Government supplements the efforts of the State
Governments by establishing power plants through Central Public Sector
Undertakings (CPSUs) and allocate power from them to the various States / UTs.
