ANSWER
MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS
(SHRI DURGADAS UIKEY)
(a) to (c): Student enrolment, attendance, academic performance, transition to higher classes, and
availability of basic infrastructure such as hostels, classrooms, sanitation, drinking water, electricity and
digital facilities are some of the key indicators which are normally monitored to analyze the performance
of EMRSs across the country including the State of Andhra Pradesh. The outcomes of these indicators are
reviewed through periodic inspections, MIS and reports from State EMRS Societies followed by corrective
measures, as required, to ensure improved educational and developmental outcomes for EMRS students.
(d) & (e): All new EMRSs having an area of 15 acres, with student capacity of 480 from Classes VI to XII
are well equipped with modern design. These include separate Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels, integrated dining
and kitchen facilities, quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff, classrooms with modern teaching aids,
science and computer laboratories, libraries with diverse learning resources, playgrounds. With regard to
staffing, 31 Teaching posts and 21 non-teaching posts are sanctioned per EMRS with classes up to XIIth
having full strength of 480 students.
NESTS has undertaken its first drive for direct recruitment of 10,391 posts through ESSE-2023. Staff
selected through this process have been posted in EMRSs, including 570 staff in the State of Andhra
Pradesh. To ensure that academic activities are not hampered, guest teachers are also engaged by State
Societies, wherever vacancies arise.
