Shri Eswarasamy K: Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state: (a) the share of beneficiaries from the total workers who availed 100 days of work under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme during the last three years; (b) the names of States that have recorded an annual decline in MGNREGA beneficiaries during the above period; and (c) the share of funds allocated to State of Tamil Nadu by the Central Government during the last three years? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT (SHRI KAMLESH PASWAN) (a) & (b): Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (Mahatma Gandhi NREGS) is a demand driven wage employment Scheme. It provides livelihood security, i.e. fall back options for livelihood for the rural households, when no better employment opportunity is available.
